Consistency prison. How to get joy back.
Sure way to suck joy out of anything is to tell yourself you have to do it everyday.
Dread, not enjoying what you are doing, wanting to do nothing.
You know you are in a consistency prison if you are afraid of what will happen if you Stop.
If you stop playing tennis – you won’t work out. You will stop learning.
You don’t trust yourself too exercise without the routine, the plan, the appointment. SO you force yourself to do it consistently.
The problem happens when a lot of time passes and you are dreading everything you have on your calendar. You don’t want to do it but you do because you are consistent. So you force yourself.
Until one day you are exhausted and all you want is nothing. Just nothing.
That’s why it is important to check in with yourself and have a conversation – do you still want to be doing this? What do you want too do? What Cani get you ? What would you like. ? why don’t you wan tot do this? Do you need a break.? Having an honest conversation about your fears.
What happens if you are afraid will happen if you stop.
Well doing anything out of fear is exhausting.
You think you will not be good enough, fit enough, smart enough, competitive enough.
What if you are good enough without doing that thing. And you don’t have to do it. What do you want to do?
